RANA has been a federally incorporated 100 Canadian owned company since 1993. It has international affiliations, offering integrated organizational and management development services in Canada and abroad. We are a matrix of some twenty full time principals and affiliated consultants, all of whom have extensive experience as process consultants and organization development experts in government, industry, and the NGO sectors. The majority of RANA folks are Fellows or Honoured Fellows of the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution, Certified Professional Facilitators accredited by the International Association of Facilitators, and are well-versed in all aspects of developing an organization's management and delivery processes.
RANA was founded by Roger E. Nopper and Paul H.J. Cormier. Mr. Nopper provides the corporate leadership and manages RANA and its business through the implementation of RANA's strategic and operational plan. Mr. Cormier's background as a linguist led to an interest in the architecture of human communications. Based on the still controversial notion that behaviour affects language and vice-versa, research and practice led to Paul being influenced by some of North America s leading thinkers on individual and organizational behaviour, e.g.: George Prince, whose ground-breaking work in Synectics (group-based problem solving) and theory of behavioural discount and revenge are seminal in understanding and influencing group dynamics; Charles Kepner and Ben Tregoe, who gave Western society the notion of process universals; and Robert Birt who has led the international charge for design and intervention in community-based conflict resolution.
Process Consulting has become one of the primary features of RANA s services. The most rigorous and transparent of consulting models, process consulting is based on Edgar Schein s work and provides the client with an accountable framework for identifying and solving organizational problems, integrating business processes and managing human and systems relationships in the workplace.
This knowledge and skill has made RANA a leader in developing and applying organizational development processes to meet the challenges in today marketplace and socio-economic environment. RANA s staff, affiliates and partners are experts in group facilitation, organizational development, stakeholder consultation, strategic and operational planning, project management, staff training, conflict resolution, and business process improvement.
A team of more than twenty consultants from across Canada and internationally deliver RANA s services to a broad sector of public, private and non-governmental clients. RANA also continues to be among the top Canadian companies in using the certification process provided by the International Association of Facilitators. RANA certified professional facilitators must satisfy rigorous theoretical and applied standards in working with client organizations to effect change and improvement.
